Terms of Use
Last updated: April 26, 2026
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of Linkr, a service operated by Gentle Motion ("we", "our", "us"). By creating an account or using Linkr, you agree to these Terms.
What Linkr Does
Linkr lets you create QR codes that redirect through linkr.fyi/q/<slug>. The slug is permanent. The destination behind it can be edited at any time while your subscription is active.
Your Account
You are responsible for:
- Keeping your sign-in credentials (Google or Apple) secure
- All activity that happens under your account
- The destinations you point your QR codes to
Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised use of your account.
Subscriptions and Payments
Linkr is a paid service. Subscriptions are billed yearly through Apple's App Store or Google Play. Pricing is shown in the app and varies by tier (number of codes you can keep active).
By purchasing, you agree that:
- Subscriptions auto-renew unless you cancel through the App Store or Google Play before the renewal date
- Refunds are handled by Apple or Google according to their policies — we cannot issue refunds directly
- If your subscription lapses, redirects on your QR codes will show a delay page (and may stop redirecting entirely after a grace period)
- Prices may change; you will be notified before any price increase takes effect
What Happens If You Stop Paying
When a subscription lapses, the QR redirect does not immediately break. Instead, scans are routed to a delay page that gives you time to renew. If you do not renew within the grace period, the redirect may stop working and the slug may eventually become available for someone else to claim. We encourage you to keep your subscription active so your printed codes keep working.
Acceptable Use
You may not use Linkr to:
- Redirect users to malware, phishing pages, or content that violates the law
- Distribute pornographic content involving minors, content that incites violence, or content that infringes others' intellectual property
- Send spam, run scams, or impersonate another person or organisation
- Circumvent App Store or Google Play review by hiding the true destination of a code at the time of submission and changing it after approval
- Resell, sublicense, or repackage Linkr as your own service
- Attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorised access to our systems
We reserve the right to suspend or delete codes (and accounts) that violate these rules, with or without prior notice. Where possible we will notify you and give you an opportunity to fix the issue.
Slugs and Vanity URLs
Slugs are issued on a first-come basis. We reserve the right to reclaim slugs that impersonate brands, public figures, or government bodies, or that are clearly chosen to deceive scanners. Standard QR slugs (random 6-character strings) are not normally affected by this rule.
AI-Generated Content
If you use the AI styling feature, the resulting QR image is generated by a third-party AI model and may occasionally produce unexpected results. You are responsible for reviewing the generated image before printing or distributing it. We do not guarantee that AI-styled codes will scan reliably on every device — we recommend testing each code before use, and we always provide a plain black-and-white fallback.
Your Content
You retain ownership of the content you upload (logos, PDFs, destination URLs, etc.). You grant us a limited, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, process, and serve that content solely for the purpose of operating the Linkr service on your behalf.
Service Availability
We aim to keep Linkr running reliably but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. Maintenance, third-party outages, or other factors may temporarily affect the redirect or the app. We are not liable for losses caused by service interruptions.
Termination
You can stop using Linkr at any time and delete your account. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or if continued service becomes commercially or legally infeasible. On termination, your codes and data will be deleted after a reasonable grace period.
Disclaimer
Linkr is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be error-free, that every QR code will scan on every device, or that destinations will always be reachable.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Gentle Motion is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of your use of Linkr. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Czechia. Any disputes will be resolved in the competent courts of Czechia, except where mandatory consumer-protection laws of your country of residence say otherwise.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the app or by email. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
